Brazilian Butt Lift

Brazilian Butt LiftSchaumburg, IL

A Brazilian butt lift is a cosmetic surgery procedure that uses your own fat to enhance the appearance of your buttocks. The procedure involves harvesting fat from other areas of your body, such as your thighs or abdomen, and injecting it into your buttocks. It creates a more rounded, lifted appearance.

Brazilian butt lifts are often combined with other procedures, such as liposuction, to improve your results further. The best candidates for this procedure are healthy adults who have realistic expectations about what the surgery can achieve.

The Brazilian butt lift procedure typically takes two to three hours to complete. It is usually done under general anesthesia, which means you will be asleep during the surgery.

After the procedure, you will likely need to wear a compression garment to help reduce swelling. You will also need to take it easy for a few weeks, avoiding strenuous activity and not sitting directly on your buttocks. Most people can return to work within a week or two after the treatment.

Important things that you should know about Brazilian butt lifts

Exercise and diet go a long way when it comes to shaping the body, but that sometimes is not enough to reach the look that a patient wants, like having a fuller, rounder backside. Butt implants have been used to create rounder backsides for decades, but the Brazilian butt lift technique enables surgeons to achieve similar results without using implants.

The ideal candidate for a Brazilian butt lift has enough excess fat in their lower abdomen, thighs, and hips to transfer to their backside. They should also have good skin tone on their backside because Brazilian butt lifts do not address saggy or loose skin. Cosmetic procedures like skin tightening can be combined with Brazilian butt lifts to address loose skin. Other things that make a patient a good candidate for Brazilian butt lifts include:

    • Being in good general health
    • Having realistic expectations for the results of the surgery
    • Being a nonsmoker

The Brazilian butt lift procedure is not recommended for significantly overweight or obese patients because they are more prone to having medical complications during and after surgery. Patients who have had previous butt implants may also not be ideal candidates for Brazilian butt lifts.

The cosmetic surgeon will go over the patient's medical history and perform a physical examination to decide if they are a good candidate for Brazilian butt lift surgery. They will also take measurements of the patient's buttocks and discuss their goals for the procedure.

It is important to remember that Brazilian butt lifts are intended to enhance existing features, not completely change them. If a patient is expecting to have a completely different backside, they may be disappointed with the results of their surgery.

The surgeon will also discuss the risks and potential complications of the procedure with the patient. These include:

    • Bleeding
    • Infection
    • Skin loss
    • Fat embolism

In very rare cases, patients may experience paralysis of the lower body or even death. Patients must understand the risks and be aware of the possible complications before going through with Brazilian butt lift surgery. If a patient is considering getting a Brazilian butt lift, here is what they can expect.

    1. The consultation: This is when the patient will meet with the surgeon to discuss their goals for surgery and to go over their medical history. The surgeon will also perform a physical examination and take measurements of the patient's buttocks. Patients should be sure to ask the cosmetic surgeon any questions that they have about the procedure.

    2. The pre-op appointment: This is when the patient will have a chance to ask the surgeon any last-minute questions before surgery. They will also be given directions on how to prepare for surgery, such as what to eat and drink and which medicines to take or avoid.

    3. The day of surgery: The patient will need to arrive at the hospital or surgical center early in the morning on the day of their surgery. Once they are checked in, they will be taken to the operating room, where the surgeon will begin the procedure.

    4. Recovery: The patient will be taken to a recovery room after surgery, where they will be closely monitored. They may feel a bit of pain and discomfort, but this can be controlled with medication. They may be required to stay in the hospital for a few days so the surgeon can monitor their progress.

    5. Follow-up appointments: The patient will need to see the surgeon for follow-up appointments so they can check the healing process and provide instructions on how to care for the incisions.

    6. Results: It may take several months for the results of the surgery to fully develop. Once the swelling and bruising have gone down, the patient will be able to see their new shape.

A Brazilian butt lift can enhance a patient's natural features and give them their desired curves. The results can last for many years with proper care and weight management.

    The procedure

Brazilian butt lifts are typically performed as an outpatient procedure with general anesthesia. The procedure often starts with a cosmetic surgeon using liposuction to remove fat from areas with excess. The excess fat is then purified and injected into targeted points on the buttocks to create the desired volume and shape. Patients typically experience a bit of discomfort after the treatment, but it can typically be managed with over-the-counter medication.

Many patients can get back to light activities and work within two weeks of the procedure. Patients should avoid sitting directly on their buttocks for at least two weeks after getting the treatment to ensure that the areas worked on heal properly. They can kneel or stand when working and lie on their stomach when resting.

Patients should wait until the surgeon gives them permission to sit in modified positions, such as with a pillow under the legs or a supporting "donut" seat. It can take up to eight weeks for patients to be cleared to sit without any restrictions.

It takes up to six months to fully recover from a Brazilian butt lift. All swelling should be gone at this point, and the final results of the treatment should be visible. The results of a Brazilian butt lift can last for many years if the patient maintains a stable weight, without any significant weight gain or loss.
