A breast lift raises and reshapes the breasts by removing excess skin and tightening some of the breast tissue. Each breast lift procedure is different. The doctor will adjust the procedure to account for the size and shape of the breasts.
The procedure will also vary depending on the extent of sagging and the elasticity of the skin.
Pregnancy can cause the breasts to grow a couple of cup sizes. Though many women go back to their pre-pregnancy cup size, many others have to live with larger breasts. Some people may welcome their new cup size, but others will hate it.
A breast reduction is a procedure where the doctor removes breast tissue in order to reduce a person’s cup size. Others end up with smaller breasts after pregnancy and need augmentation.
This is the removal of excess fat in order to contour the body into a better form. Pregnancy often results in fat deposits that are hard to get rid of. In a mommy makeover, liposuction often targets the hips, buttocks, stomach and thighs.
Like any elective surgical procedure, a mommy makeover needs you to be healthy. If you are a smoker, you should quit and give your body the chance to heal quickly. Also, you should be close to your ideal weight before getting the makeover. This will allow you to enjoy the benefits of the makeover in the long term.
