Juvederm Treatment for Wrinkle Reduction

If you feel like the skin on your face is beginning to sag, you have fine lines and wrinkles, or you look tired all of the time, a Juvederm treatment may be right for you. Juvederm is a non-invasive cosmetic improvement filler that many women and men choose instead of opting for more invasive options like plastic surgery. It is a simple procedure that offers beautiful, immediate and painless results.

How does it work?

As people age, the body produces less hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a substance that aids the skin in retaining moisture, maintaining face volume and keeping wrinkles at bay. Doctors inject Juvederm fillers into specific areas of the skin, replenishing the skin and reducing signs of aging. Most patients do not experience any discomfort during an injection. However, if the patient has concerns, applying a topical anesthetic beforehand helps relieve any possible pain at the injection site. It takes from 15 minutes to one hour to complete the injection process.

How long will the results last?

Many people want to improve their appearance and reduce signs of aging, but they do not want to undergo a permanent plastic surgery. Juvederm provides noticeable wrinkle reduction and face lifting that lasts for one to two years. While it is not a permanent solution, subsequent treatments are a usual happenstance once the effects wear off and results are noticeable immediately after an injection. Many people prefer this type of option that does not require incisions, scarring, time off work or permanent changes. Some patients opt to have Juvederm injected up to four times a year to keep results intact.

The uses of Juvederm

After an evaluation of the patient's face, there are different formulas of Juvederm that the physician can choose from depending on the patient’s specific needs and wants. Places where Juvederm injections take place include on the cheeks, frown lines, upper lip and sometimes under the eyes as needed. If problem areas exist outside of these, there are other treatment options available to supplement the effects of Juvederm.

Using it in combination with other treatments

Juvederm injections should only occur alone, not in conjunction with other treatments at the same time. However, having other treatments following the treatment is a viable option. Doctors can inject patients with Botox (before or after) Juvederm to achieve the smoothest face possible without surgery. Botox provides results that last for a few months and additional treatments happen as needed. Chemical peels, microdermabrasion and laser resurfacing treatments are other noninvasive options that may reduce fine lines, resulting in a more youthful appearance.

Discover the benefits of this procedure

People who want fresher looking skin without a surgical procedure or a long recovery period will benefit from this treatment. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should wait until afterward before scheduling a Juvederm treatment, and anyone who has a history of severe allergic reactions should avoid it completely. For beautiful results that provide a youthful appearance, schedule an appointment today for a Juvederm treatment.
